My friend Catwoman Catera has a heart as big as all outdoors when it comes to animals in need.
While carpooling to work the other day, she came upon some abandoned puppies lying in the middle of the road. Of course, they stopped the car and checked for any sign of life, but three of the pups had already died. She called animal control to handle the removal of deceased puppies.
As they maneuvered their way around the puppies, Catera spotted one tiny pup that looked like a shar-pei mix huddling close to its dead siblings. The terrified baby was covered with fleas, ants, flies and sores. She immediately took the puppy so it could be cared for.

But since her household was bursting at the seams with rescued pets, Catera brought the pup to a shelter, where it was taken in -- and classified as a pit bull. Unaware that pit bulls were "outlawed" in her area, she called the shelter the next day to check in on the puppy's progress, and was told that it would have to be euthanized due to its breed.
After a gazillion phone calls to the shelter, mingled with her tears and pleas for the life of this puppy, she finally connected with a sympathetic worker who told her to come pick up the puppy, tell the other shelter workers that she had made a mistake, that it was hers and she desperately wanted it back.

Mission accomplished, she was thrilled to write me that while she is working on a small zoo in her home, she could not be happier with this puppy. It has been treated for mange, worms and a skin infection, and the vet says it's a 6-week-old shar-pei. (Though Catera feels it may be younger, since it whines and makes infant puppy sounds.)
Animal lovers like this lady make these miracles happen every day.
So let's say hello to her newest miracle, and help find a name for this adorable little girl. What would you suggest?

1. What about the obvious "Miracle"
